July 4, 2020-The moment President David Becerra feared the most since his election earlier this year has come: Washington, DC is under attack. President Kapalkin of the Russian Federation gave the order to move into America's capital this morning. All day, brutal fighting in the streets has raged, and both sides have had many dead.
The initiation of "Operation Death," as General Izotov has been calling the invasion of DC, would not have happened if it weren't for the resounding sucesses the SGB encountered in New England. Pennslyvania and New York fell earlier this week, taking away vital air support from Reagan Sea Base in New York Harbor in Long Island. So far, the battle in Washington has seen America take the slightest advantage. Another reason for the ability for the SGB to invade the heavily defended city was that much of the JSF's troops and machines were occupied in the invasion of Portugal (which was held up at Arrabida yesterday). However, America succeeded in pushing the EF completely out of America by winning at Okefenokee. The American invasion was "expected," as President Perreau put it. "We invaded, and they struck back. The difference was, we were ready." CNN will have word on the status of Washington, DC tomorrow.
On the European Front, the offensive that General Bankole himself called "ineffective" and "a waste of materials", was saved by heroic fighting in eastern Russia and Latvia. The Enforcer Corps achieved both of their objectives of Istra and Mahilyow, and Brenner Pass in the Alps. Spetznaz is retreating, according to reports from EF officers at the front lines. The offensive is expected to continue next week. However, the SGB massed their forces around Copenhagen and took the major city. This could prove to be a mortal blow for the EF. From San Diego, I'm Bruce Feld, signing off.
